Beneath the Mercury Sky

“Suisei no Sora no Shita” (“Suisei”) or Under or Beneath the Mercury Sky is a Japanese-inspired TTRPG that uses a “roll above” 2d8+modifier(s) system. It borrows heavily from familiar anime/ manga tropes and is set on a fictional island populated by a mix of beings: some good, some bad, and others morally gray. If you’re looking for a system that leans heavily into the adventures you see in such media, Suisei is the game to play.

The world is a series of islands named Kasumi no Kakure no Yugen surrounded by an inescapable fog and storm that swallows up boats that venture too far from them. Even on the clearest day, when people can see for many miles around the islands, a mysterious fog can arise out of nowhere. When the fog lifts or the storm clears, they are considerably nearer to the island chain.
